An Enduro is a ‘Non-Speed’ event designed to test endurance.

| Entries |
The Agent/Parent or Guardian shall sign an indemnity before racing starts (on both days if a two day meeting), stating that the Rider is fit and able to take part in the meeting. The Agent/Parent or Guardian must satisfy themselves by walking the track prior to practice that they are entirely satisfied with the layout of the track and that the Rider is competent and fit to negotiate the entire circuit. By Signing On an Agent/ Parent or Guardian will have accepted this condition. A current, valid BSMA or AMX licence (including Day-Licence) must be presented at signing on. The Agent/Parent or Guardian must accompany a youth entrant to a meeting and will remain for the duration of the time the Rider is present. The Agent/Parent or Guardian shall be required to marshal as and when required by the organising club. Marshalling must be carried out by a responsible adult over the age of 18. If over the age of 65 years the Marshal must be physically able to carry out such duties. In the interest of safety, young children must not be left in the track unattended. Signed on Marshals must wear HI - VIZ Vest whilst marshalling track side. |
| Spectators |
Children under 16 years of age must always be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian or Responsible Adult at all times whilst in the vicinity of the enduro circuit. Only those signed on as Marshals are permitted onto the track. Those wishing to cross the track may only do so under the direction/control of a marshal. |
| Course Layout |
Maximum length 5 miles (8 km) The course should be marked with flags and similar markers. Bends, which allow for course cutting should be taped. Markers placed in pairs may be used to indicate special parts of the course which competitors are required to pass through. A recommendation that markers should be positioned after turns to indicate to riders they are on the correct route. A crossed arrow will be used to indicate danger/hazard or caution. Markers should be flexible. Where possible the course will be taped to prevent spectators from walking onto the track. The course will be inspected by the stewards prior to start of event. Warning Notices should be placed in any possible spectator area. |
| Start/Finish Area |
Area should be divided into lanes to segregate riding groups for Start and also Finish/Lap scoring. These control lanes to be marked for appropriate groups. A suitable speed limit of 5/10 mph to be applied to this area. Should also contain a signed Fire Point. |
| Riders Meeting |
Before the start of each event a meeting of the competitors is recommended to point out the rules and nature of the course. At every event there are likely to be riders who have never competed in an Enduro type event before. There is no practising allowed on the course. (Apart from Auto/Junior/Novice) It is the responsibility of the rider to proceed at a speed adequate for their ability. |
| Re-fuelling Area |
The Non-Trackside section of the re-fuelling area should be roped off and Prohibited Area Notices displayed. Upon entering this area riders MUST PROCEED AT WALKING PACE to their Pit Crew. This area must be marshalled. Smoking is not allowed. No children (under the age of 16yrs) or dogs allowed. When being re-fuelled, engines MUST be switched OFF. Penalty for non-compliance. LOSS OF ALL POINTS and/or EXCLUSION from event. Organisers must provide a signed Fire Point in this area with suitable fire extinguishers available. It is suggested a toilet be adjacent to the area for use of riders and spectators without the need to cross the course. Maximum number for Pit Crew is 2 The area must not be used as a spectator area. |
| Course Cutting |
Riders cutting the course will be excluded In the event of machine failure, to qualify as finished, the bike and rider must complete the course from where the machine failed. A machine cannot be towed in or taken by a shorter route. |
| Outside assistance |
Only Marshals and Officials shall assist riders. Goggles, fuel, refreshment, maintenance and repairs etc at trackside may only be completed by the rider. |
| Discipline |
The Child Protection Policy of the BSMA will apply to all events. Physical and/or Verbal assault will not be tolerated and will result in instant exclusion. The BSMA will be informed of any action taken by the organising club. Riders must comply with instructions given by Officials of the Meeting. Complaints must be brought to the attention of the Clerk of the Course on the day. A protest must be made in writing and, together with a fee of £50 must be handed to the Clerk of the Course for consideration. |
| Results |
Remain provisional for 7 days. Anyone wishing to contest them must contact the Secretary of the Meeting. |

Regular Club marshals, Race Control, Medical Crew and the Clerk of Course /Assistant C of C will be equipped with 2-way radios |
| Marshalling |
At least one Travelling Marshall should be on the course at all times during the competition. Where a course is between 3 and 5 miles long, additional Travelling Marshalls should be used. It is recommended that a quad or 4wheel drive is available to recover riders/machines. A minimum of 2 Marshals per point wearing Hi-Viz |
| Flags |
Red Stop immediately - Race ended. Riders must wait until given permission to proceed to pits and must not leave the designated track. Yellow Motionless Danger, take care. Ride with caution. Maintain position and be prepared to stop. Any Rider who gains a position will sustain loss of all points. Yellow Waved Great Danger, prepare to stop, ride with extreme caution. No overtaking. A yellow flag should be waved when riders are stopped in a dangerous position or being attended to by officials or medical staff. Any Rider who ‘overtakes’ will sustain loss of all points Black with Rider number displayed. That Rider is to stop and draw off the course immediately. Chequered End of race. White with green cross used to call for Medical Assistance. Union Jack Start |
| Instructions to Riders | Any written instructions subsequently issued shall have the same force as these Standing Regulations and Supplementary Regulations. |
